Welcome to PayPro's December newsletter!

Christmas is just around the corner. It's a time of joy and happiness and a time for special offers - don't forget about offering discounts to your customers. We all like gifts, so don't be greedy :). Discounts help your customers enjoy the holidays and at the same time help you boost software sales.

This was a great year for us... We've completed so much development work and keep on doing it, improving the EasyCommerce platform and adding new features to ensure your sales grow with us.

We also produced amazing results on an A/B test - 64% sales growth for SoftOrbits against its previous eCommerce partner. This was possible because of the tools and features we have implemented, as well as the personal account optimization we do.

In the PayPro EasyCommerce enhancements section you will see detailed information on the major updates implemented recently. One such feature is a quote generation tool designed to let your customers get a product quote right away and successfully complete the order afterwards. Another novelty I'm excited to share is instant notifications via SMS. It doesn't matter where you are, you won't miss any of your orders!

I've noticed that many of you ask us how to better track software sales. So we've compiled some useful information in the Tips and Tricks section.

PayPro's success in A/B test for SoftOrbits - 64% sales increase!

PayPro EasyCommerce enhancements
Let your customers get back to you after ordering is finished

We've developed a smart feature for thank you pages that allows you to redirect the customer to any URL after ordering is completed.

With PayPro's redirect feature you can learn more about your customers... Start a survey and ask customers to participate. Or you may want to give customers more information about your products. It's all possible with PayPro.

You can easily set up redirects on the Page Templates page within the Thank you page tab. Just insert the "CONTINUE_LINK" tag and specify the link in the Custom continue URL field.

Get instant notifications via SMS

With this feature enabled you will be immediately notified about incoming orders via text message on your mobile device. Moreover, you can receive a daily summary report without the need to access PayPro EasyCommerce. If you are away or simply don't have an Internet connection, you can still keep updated about your software sales.

You can set up this feature on your account Profile page within the Notifications tab.

Enhanced B2B flow with the quote generation tool

We all know how hard it is to make customers finalize their order. It is a very common situation when a customer requires detailed information on total order pricing including taxes and additional costs. Selling to businesses is even more complicated and time-consuming. Corporate users often need a product quote for their accounting department in order to receive approval for the purchase.

While looking for more ways to make it simple and efficient to sell software online, not only to home users but businesses as well, PayPro Europe designed a quote generation tool that automatically creates product quotes and streamlines online sales. With this new feature PayPro Europe enables software companies to increase sales to the B2B sector and to consumers by creating detailed quotes with speed and efficiency. Any software company targeting corporate users will benefit from this new capability.

With PayPro's new tool, product quote generation is fully automated. The customer will receive the quote right away as a PDF. And the product quote contains a link to the order page, so the customer can easily purchase the product after obtaining approval.

Get local prices for your Web site

PayPro EasyCommerce supports over one hundred currencies to deliver the best purchasing experience to customers worldwide. One important localization feature on the order page is to show customers the price in their local currency. PayPro makes this adjustment automatically based on the customer's IP address.

We also suggest you display localized prices on your Web site to make potential customers feel more comfortable and be more likely to make a purchase. With localized prices customers can more quickly evaluate the product cost and make a faster decision to purchase.

In order to give you more flexibility and control over product pricing on your Web site, we would like to introduce the "Get local price" tool. Simply generate an HTTP call to PayPro and get the price for your product in various currencies. With this feature you'll be able to display the exact same prices on your Web site and on your product order page.

Can you count?
This small article is about tracking your software sales with PayPro EasyCommerce.

The most common way to get statistics is to use Google Adwords and Google Analytics.

Google Analytics has two purposes - tracking visitors to your Web pages and tracking sales using eCommerce statistics.

The main issue when using Google Analytics with eCommerce systems is that it's not entirely accurate. In a business that is all about numbers, inaccurate tracking is just not going to cut it.

What some eCommerce companies ask you to do is place the Google Analytics script either on the thank you page or on another page that will be triggered when the thank you page is displayed. This is tricky because in many cases (such as phone and fax orders, wire transfers or any other real time order), the thank you page is presented with the payment instructions. The problem with this is that more often than not, the customer will not complete the order using these payment methods, either because he placed the same order multiple times or because he paid via a credit card after exploring his options.

The bottom line is that your statistics shows inflated numbers, when in reality you are actually earning less than what the numbers may state. This, obviously, will not do.

We thought about how to avoid this inaccurate tracking and how to simplify the process of integration. We came up with this complicated form :)



As you can see, all you have to do is to insert the Analytics ID, click save, and you are already tracking.

Actually, we were thinking about doing it all ourselves and presenting the results in our reporting mechanism. But let's be honest, Google Analytics does it well. So why duplicate what's already fairly well done instead of investing our resources into new ideas... If you have an idea for a good tracking mechanism that nobody else has, then please let me know.

What will be tracked (besides the standard information)?
  • Order ID, total order price, tax paid (if any), and customer location
  • Product info, like order ID, SKU/code (product ID), product name, product price, and quantity ordered.
All of this information will be transferred into you Google Analytics account.

It's also possible to integrate EasyCommerce with Google Adwords, since the tracking code can be changed. Depending on whether you track the order total or not, you can use a dynamic tag in the script (such as <Order Total>) and paste it into the Adwords Conversion Tracking Code area.

It sounds like a small change, but it's not. Understanding where you customers are coming from, and where you should invest your time and money, is sometimes more important than creating new advertising campaigns. In addition, you'll be amazed by how much money you save using tracking that actually works, and how it really can help you sell software online...
